Today's Favorite Verse: Matthew 5:16

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Good works made me think of "by their fruits ye shall know them".

(3 Nephi 14:20)

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

(Matthew 7:15-18, 20)

If our works are good the light we hold up is Jesus Christ, not ourselves.

"Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up—that which ye have seen me do. Behold ye see that I have prayed unto the Father, and ye all have witnessed."

(3 Nephi 18:24)
