Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 53:20-21
"And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all - they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted.
Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught to keep the commandments of God and to walk uprightly before him."
This is a description of the sons of the people of Ammon, the 2000 stripling warriors. They could not have been any older the 15 years of age. For they were the children that never entered into a oath to lay down their weapons of war. Their parents could not fight to help the Nephites at this time, but they could send their sons. What a beautiful and inspiring group of young men they must have been. It would be wonderful if we could say all youth had these same qualities. The difference is what they had been taught in their homes, to always keep the commandments and walk uprightly before God.
