Today's Favorite Verse: Alma 48:17
"Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men."
That is an incredible statement. I sat and pondered on what caused him to be such a man. Here are some descriptions of him in this chapter.
Prepared the minds of the people to be faithful to God
Strengthen the armies and fortified their cities
Strong and mighty man
Perfect understanding
Did not delight in bloodshed
His soul did joy in the liberty and freedom of his country, and his brethren free from bondage and slavery
Heart swell with thanksgiving to God
Labor exceeding for the welfare and safety of his people
Firm in the faith of Christ
Sworn and oath to defend his people, rights, country and religion even to the loss of his blood
Raised the sword only to preserve life
Trusted in the Lord and the guidance of the spirit
He was like Ammon and the sons of Mosiah
He was like Alma and his sons
He was sorry to be the means of sending so many out of this world unprepared to meet their God
Moroni was a man of God and that is what gave him the ability to lead his men in preserving the "cause of the Christians".
