Today's Favorite Verse: Deuteronomy 30:15-16
"See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it."
So much cursing is described in these three chapters. It is a warning of what will happen if they choose to leave God and follow the strange gods of the land. I pondered on how we are all given our agency to choose. With that choice comes consequences. The Lord totally spelled it out to them the blessing or curse. It's no different than with us today.
"Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself."
(2 Nephi 2:27)
"Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life."
(2 Nephi 10:23)
