Today's Favorite Verse: Genesis 14:21-23

Today's Favorite Verse: Genesis 14:21-23
"And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:"

This made me ponder on how important it is to always give credit to the Lord for the blessings we receive. Abram did not want the king of Sodom to later take credit in any way that he made Abram rich. Abram was already very rich because the Lord had blessed him. Abram raised his hands in faith unto the Lord, giving all the credit past and future to Him. If the king of Sodom took credit it would cast a shadow on the Lord's blessings. For Abram principles came first before material things.
