Today's Favorite Verse: Daniel 6:5, 24

"Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den."

A classic example of someone digging a pit for another and they fall into it. Darius had 120 princes with 3 presidents over them, Daniel being the first. The king thought to set him over the whole realm. Those beneath Daniel in favor sought to remove him from his place by finding fault in him. Then it turned to conspiring together to form a law for the king to sign that Daniel for sure would disobey. The king decreed that no one was allowed to ask a petition of any God or man or thirty days. I love how right after Daniel knew king Darius signed the decree he went into his house and prayed. When discovered Darius has no choice but to have Daniel thrown into the lions den. Daniel is preserved. But, the men along with their wives and children and then thrown into the lions den and devoured.

"And that great pit, which hath been digged for them by that great and abominable church, which was founded by the devil and his children, that he might lead away the souls of men down to hell—yea, that great pit which hath been digged for the destruction of men shall be filled by those who digged it, unto their utter destruction, saith the Lamb of God; not the destruction of the soul, save it be the casting of it into that hell which hath no end."

(1 Nephi 14:3)

"And every nation which shall war against thee, O house of Israel, shall be turned one against another, and they shall fall into the pit which they digged to ensnare the people of the Lord. And all that fight against Zion shall be destroyed, and that great whore, who hath perverted the right ways of the Lord, yea, that great and abominable church, shall tumble to the dust and great shall be the fall of it."

"That no weapon formed against them shall prosper; that he who diggeth a pit for them shall fall into the same himself;"
