Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 15:9-10, 12

Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 15:9-10, 12
"And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;"

Asa, king of Judah ruled over the Southern kingdom somewhere around 929-870 BC. It was made up of the tribe of Judah and Benjamin. The other ten tribes made up the Northern kingdom and were called Israel. Which would include the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. Eventually the Northern kingdom is captured by the Assyrians and the ten tribes are carried away to the north countries. The verses in this chapter show how faithful saints from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon came over to Judah during the reign of Asa. These were saints ready to make covenants with the Lord. This is how the families of Lehi a descendant of Manasseh, and Ishmael a descendant of Ephraim, both from part of the ten tribes that were scattered, could have been in found in Jerusalem in 600 BC.
