Today's Favorite Verse: 2 Chronicles 10:7-8
"And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him."
Ignoring the wisdom of the old men divided the kingdom between the north and the south. Between Israel and Judah. This was caused by the pressure Rehoboam put upon the people. This is not only much to learn from the scriptures, but from people that have learned wisdom from their life experiences. Each generation has to learn the same lessons over again. This is why history repeats itself. It does not matter when we have our mortal probation here on earth. We all have the same opportunities to learn from similar mistakes and events.
