Today's Favorite Verse: 1 Samuel 13:9, 11
"And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;"
This made me ponder on the dangers of thinking you know greater than a prophet. To the point you take matters into your own hand. This was the door that Saul opened that lead to his downfall. This is the same door that leads to apostasy today.
"O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish."
(2 Nephi 9:28)
