Today's Favorite Verse: Judges 12:1
" And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire."
I had to wonder, why would someone get upset that you didn't ask them to come fight with you in battle against someone else? Then because of it you threaten to burn down their homes with them in it. That didn't make sense. Then I realized it was because they wanted the spoils of war. They were angry because they lost out on those riches. Their motives and desires were far from the thoughts of my heart. I can see that Israel is becoming very wicked.
