Today's Favorite Verse: Deuteronomy 26:17-19

"Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:

And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken."

Avouched = declared, testified

I thought of the covenants and blessings here. I also thought of what President Nelson has counseled, to "Hear Him". To hearken unto His voice, is to Hear Him. Walking in His ways, keeping his statutes, judgment and commandments demonstrates that I Hear Him. He promises to make us a peculiar people. Meaning a valued treasure, made or selected by God. There is a refinement that takes place there. First, I must do my part to testify that the Lord is my God and I will follow Him. How grateful I am for a prophet of God that helps me Hear Him and points the way to Jesus Christ.
